Defence and Security Symposium 2019

5 December 2019 – Deakin University, Waurn Ponds, Building NA

The Defence and Security Symposium (DSS) is an annual event that brings together participants from defence, industry, and academia to exchange ideas and information and to connect with decision-makers from Defence, academic researchers and industry capability developers.

This year’s symposium theme is to highlight “The Role of Academia in Supporting Defence, Security, and Industry.”

While the recognition of “Industry” as a fundamental input to capability is well understood, the growing involvement of Academia in making a significant contribution to defence capability is now positioning it to receive greater recognition of the role it plays in supporting the ADF. DSS2019 provides an opportunity to gain insight into future requirements and opportunities for close collaboration between these three entities.
