Australia-Germany Series Advances Collaboration

Around 30 Australian and German industry representatives last week joined the 6th event in the AFCG-MAI Carbon-hosted online series of Australia-Germany discussions.

Expert speakers in July included Carbon Revolution’s R&D Program Manager Rod Macaulay, Deakin University’s Professor Russell Varley, Benno Böckl from Technical University of Munich and Arne Muncke from Cevotec.

New strong lightweight materials are solving some of the world’s biggest challenges, catalysing a low emissions future and playing an ever increasing role in many industries.

Germany and Australia both have unique capabilities in lightweight materials which in June 2020 led to a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the leading German cluster M.A.I. Carbon and Australia’s Advanced Fibre Cluster in Geelong.

In celebration of this collaboration, Austrade together with the two Clusters is hosting an online Expo to highlight some of the outstanding businesses, research capabilities and innovations. The events continue to encourage a dialogue between the participants and help to identify new business opportunities, knowledge transfer and research & development opportunities in both markets.
