DESCRIPTION:Join Davis George\, Senior Consultant at Consulting and Implementation Services (CIS) for a webinar on commercialising higher education research.  \nDavis works closely with industry\, government and research institutions to help support\, scale and commercialise research in Australia. CIS is an end-to-end strategic advisory and consulting firm with a particular focus on commercialising research through strategy\, collaboration between industry and research and accessing funds. CIS has helped raise over $1.2 billion in grants and other funding opportunities. \nDavis has extensive experience in grants including CRCs\, CRC-P\, ARCs and AusIndustry and helps support strategic alignment\, conducts the economic impact modelling\, supports the governance and overall project management. He formulated the idea and is leading the Hemp CRC which is due to go in this round of funding. He has also worked on other large bids including One Basin CRC\, SAAFE CRC and RACE CRC. \nDavis and more broadly\, the CIS are now in the position to link innovative IP and SMEs that are needing capital expansion. Davis is working closely with a micro-algae firm that has just secured $3.5m in capital to start and scale their operations. Dr Veit has worked in textiles for more than 30 years. His latest book\, ‘Fibres: History\, Production\, Properties\, Market’ will be released this year. \nHigh performance fibres can offer high strength\, high modulus\, thermal stability at high temperature and/or chemical and solvent resisting mechanical properties. DESCRIPTION:Please join a special AFCG Members’ Briefing by Dr Adrian Panow\, Director Deakin Energy\, on the new Hycel Technology Hub at Deakin University’s Warrnambool campus and the opportunity for composites in the hydrogen economy. \nHycel recently received A$7m from the Federal Government’s Strategic University Reform Fund (SURF) to boost hydrogen expertise in south-west Victoria. \nDr Panow has a distinguished background in private and public sector leadership roles in energy\, resources\, water and agri-food. As the Director\, Deakin Energy\, Adrian consolidates Deakin University’s value proposition in microgrid development\, hydrogen\, energy generation\, distribution\, storage\, energy demand management and the corresponding economic policy and regulatory frameworks that impact on those systems.
